mioni midi maxi worst riding ever

Me and marble did our first competion and his first ever :D we only did 2 courses ever before this and only been in a indoor once so i was extremley nevious (i still have slight issues with my nerves but its all better) which effected us a lot

well i was more scared about how he would be in the warm up arena as only ever hunted he got a little excited but was AMAZING

when we went in the arena (i did the midi which is 75cm) we went a tiny bit fast and because i was nevious i fought him and couldnt see a stride and marble tought the fences were WAY too small :D so we had loads of knocks and one run out all my fault however im so proud of him there were 4 tractours with hay on them going by and he didnt even blink

so im very proud of him and annoyed with my self

There's no show for Katies' novice this weekend, so we took him to a local venue which we hired. So far, he's only really jumped indoors, but he gave us a BIG surprise - Look at him jumping these fences which were all around 90cms which is all he is really up to jumping at the moment :)

guys i'm in a flap :blink:

i have a jumping session with marion pretty soon and i promised her i would put the jump up one whole hole to make my jumps 3ft.

but i'm terrified :blink: the jump can be up but i always chicken out on the last three strides and pull up which in turn encourages otto to refuse :( i was jumping a massive height with him until i had a stunt rider trial involentry :( now put anything above 2ft9 and i poop myself not literally!

i know that once i have gone over it once i'll be begging for more :laugh:
any tips for banishing the fear????

someone told me to close my eyes and hope for the best and someone else suggested singing on my way up to the jump :laugh:

anyothe tips as i dont like the sound of either of those XD

JRC Competition Easter Monday

Show time tomorrow and my frist Jersey Riding Club even since last November, over winter it's all x jump and x country which is a bit beyound me and bob (but hopefully not next year).

Well I was entered for just poles which wasn't all that exciting as we have done them about three times already. But I have managed to scrape a lesson sunday night for some small jumps.

If it all goes well I will attempt the ascending poles. This is a course of 9 fences with one double starting as cross poles of about 30 ascending slowly to an upright at the end of 50.

If you all remember last June I tried this class stopped then cat lept the first fence and exited over the shoulder!

It can only be better this time I'm sure :)

So near, and yet so far...

Yesterday we went to a show so Katie could jump her youngster round the British Novice.

She had the LAST fence down in the jump-off with the fastest time up until then.

We went to local BSJA show this morning with Katies' youngster, she takes him in the British Novice which has a maximum height of 90cms I think. She was 5th in and just wanted to use one of the practice fences in the collecting rihg a couple of times to get her horse switched on and settled. Why, oh why do you get one or two people who seem to monopolise the collecting ring and have the practice fences up at about 1.20m :w00t:

It's so unfair with those who have real novice horses and just want to pop them over before they go in the ring. And why do they feel the need to jump such big fences to warm up for a novice class?

Jumping lessons re starting

Has a lesson last night and my instructor says we can start jumping next week :D

This is a real compliment from him as he likes you to perfect something before you can move on. Not saying I''m perfect but I must be walking trotting beding and doing nice enough shaped circles forward going enough for him to say this :)

I can't wait!
